We welcome all to learn about the importance of plants and plant science, horticulture and the joy of gardening.

You are welcome to pay at the Ticket Office on arrival. Alternatively, you can purchase your tickets in advance online.

Please note: Tickets are not transferable between days and are non-refundable.

Entrances

The Botanic Garden is a 15-minute walk from Cambridge city centre and 5 minutes from Cambridge train station, with entrances on Trumpington Road (Brookside Gate) and Hills Road (Station Road Gate).

Opening times

  • February - March 10:00am - 5:00pm
  • April - September 10:00am - 6:00pm
  • October 10:00am - 5:00pm
  • November - January 10:00am - 4:00pm

The Garden is open to the general public. Walk ups welcome, pre-booking is optional.

We are open every day throughout the year except for Christmas closure – 24 December 2022 to 1 January 2023 (inclusive).

Last paid admission is 30 minutes before closing time.

Only registered guide and assistance dogs are permitted in the Garden. We are also unable to permit entry to the Garden to any other brought animal, whether carried or on a lead.

Friends and Cambridge University students enjoy free entry.

Corporate Friends do not need to pre-book in groups of under 10, but please bring your Corporate Pass with you when you visit.

*includes an optional donation of 10% more than the Standard Admission price. If you opt to make this donation and are a UK tax payer, we can also claim Gift Aid on the whole amount  – which creates a 25p donation to the Garden for every £1. Gift Aid is an easy, tax effective way for you to support the Garden. Further Gift Aid information can be found on our ticket price page.
