This cheery Pelargonium brings vibrant colour to the Scented Garden.
Numbering 250 species the genus Pelargonium is found in Africa, Asia , St Helena , Tristan da Cunha, Madagascar, Australia and New Zealand. ‘Pink Capitatum’ is a low growing, spreading cultivar with lemon-scented leaves, which produces a mass of intense pink flowers over a long season in the open garden and also in containers. As with many of the members of this genus, it is frost tender, so needs to be given protection in winter. Often referred to by the common name geranium, and a member of the geranium family, Geraniaceae, the genus Pelargonium is in fact distinct from the hardy genus Geranium, and the common name geranium is misapplied.
