Tucked in the Glasshouse Bays, this species is showing its pendent tubular flowers to great effect.
Previously considered a member of the Agave family, Beschorneria septentrionalis is now recognized as a member of the closely-related Asparagus family. The narrow, red flowers have a pale green tip, and these are held aloft the basal rosette on stems to 2 m in height. This is a Mexican native which will grow in a sheltered position in the United Kingdom.
