After discovering in mid-June that the new bud on one of our Titan Arum plants was in fact a flower – as opposed to a leaf as expected – we were delighted that ‘Titus’ (as it was christened by the public), our Titan Arum, finally flowered on 26/27 June 2017.
In this short film Alex explains the botany (and horrendous smell!) behind the blooming of ‘Titus’ and how we have pollinated this amazing plant.
Thank you to the Office of External Affairs and Communications, University of Cambridge for making this film.
