A heritage-listed Garden, designed for year-round interest. Since its opening in 1846, Cambridge University Botanic Garden has supported University research, been an inspiration for gardeners, an exciting introduction to the natural world for families and a refreshing oasis for all our visitors. Our small team of Horticultural volunteers support us in delivering horticultural excellence throughout the Garden.
We are seeking volunteers for the following areas of the Garden: Garden Landscapes, Glasshouses & Nursery, Horticultural Displays. In each Section the work is interesting and varied covering many different areas and a range of tasks.
Volunteer applications are welcomed from people with basic horticultural skills, experience and an interest in, and understanding of horticulture.
The Selection Process
For full details please read the Further Information document below. An Expression of Interest Form should be completed and submitted by those wishing to be considered as a volunteer. All applicants must be aged 18 or over. An informal chat will be arranged for those applicants most closely matching our requirements. This will be an opportunity to discuss the role with Horticultural staff.
